Gilgit: Bodies of five young soldiers, who were martyred
during anti-terrorism operation in North Waziristan on Friday, have been laid
to rest in different parts of Gilgit Baltistan.
Seven soldiers of Northern Light Infantry (4 NLI) were martyred in an intelligence based operation (IBO), in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, according to the press release of Inter Services Public Relations.
Bodies of Havaldar Abdul Razaq from Astore, Havaldar Ameer Wali and Sepoy Anwar Jan from Ghizar and Sipoy Samiullah from Hunza, were brought to Gilgit in C-130 plane and Namaz e Janaza was offered at Gilgit
Airport. Commandant FCNA, CM GB and a large number of soldiers and locals
participated in the prayer. Later bodies were shifted to the respective towns and laid to rest as per Army protocol.
Havaldar Ameer Wali belong to Phandar valley but his family was settled in Daniyor, while Sepoy Anwar Jan was from District headquarter Gahkuch. A deep sense of grief prevailed across the district when bodies of both soldier were brought in Army convoy accompanied by a huge number of locals. Funeral prayers of both were offered in there respective town and bodies were laid to rest.
Havaldar Naseer was directly brought to Chilas, where it was laid to rest. A large number of elders and local people participated in Namaz e Janaza and funeral. Correspondent.
