Governor, CM Quake Hit District of Ghizar, Announced Relief Package

Gahkuch: The Governor Gilgit Balstistan, accompanied by Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and other high officials of GB have visited Ghizar, the district worst effected by yesterday’s devastating earthquake.

Governor Barjees Tahir, Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman, Chief Secretary Tahir Hussain, Secretary KANA Division Syed Asim Munir and other officials have reached Gahkuch at noon and first visited the DHQ hospital to meet the injured ones.
During the visit the Governor and CM inquired about the condition of injured patients and directed the health department to make sure the best possible medical facilities in the hospital.

Later talking to the media the Governor announced relief aid package for the victims of the worst ever earthquake. The Governor has announced that Rs. 500,000 will be given to the families those killed and Rs. 150,000 to those who injured in yesterday’s earthquake.

He did not announce specific amount for restoration of houses damaged, but said that the provincial government will bear all construction expenditures of damaged houses.
The Chief Minister directed the district administration to make detailed report of damages occurred and gather data of affected families.

They also visited the worst effected areas of Hoper, Mayon and Jaj Bargo.
