He was born in 1922 in Barkolti, District Ghizar. He joined Gilgit Scouts in 1948 and fought liberation war of Gilgit Baltistan, and took part in pushing back Dogras untill their last detination in Sri Nagar. He also took part in 1965 war against India in Kashmir.
In 1973, he joined Pakistan People’s Party and served as a general secretary in Yasin sub division. Althoughy, he never contested election at any level, he played significant role in various electoral politics in the region untill 2004. In 2009, he parted ways with the party, and supported other candidate in the last election of his life.
He was counted amongst the most respectable politicians of Ghizar, Gilgit Baltistan.
