ISLAMABAD: Karakoram University won the first ever Inter Varsity Men Skiing Championship, held under the auspices of Ski Federation of Pakistan (SFP).
Ski teams from eight universities of Pakistan participated in the championship which included Karakoram University Gilgit, Islamic International University Islamabad, Punjab University, Lahore University, GC University, University of Central Punjab, Karachi University, and University of Swat. Three skiers from each team participated in the final round of the championship, after attending a training camp organized by SFP at PAF Base Kalabagh.
Skiing is the latest sport which has been introduced by HEC in its annual sports calendar for the inter varsity competitions. It has received a tremendous response from the university students across the country. The training as well as Championship was organized by Ski Federation of Pakistan, in collaboration of HEC, while the administrative support was provided by Pakistan Air Force. onlinenews
