Re-known journalist Raja Hussain Khan Maqpoon, chief editor of daily K2 has died in a fatal road accident near Sheikhupura on Sunday, sources said.
According to Motorway police, Hussain Khan Maqpoon and his wife sustained serious injuries when their car collided with a truck on the motorway near Sheikhupura. They were on their way back to Islamabad from Lahore. Both of them were immediately shifted to the near-by hospital where Hussain Maqpoon succumbed to his injuries.
According to rescue sources, arrangement are made to shift the deceased body to Rawalpindi, where it will be kept in Edhi cold storage before making further arrangements. The body will be shifted to Skurdu on Monday, and will be burried in his native village.
Correction: As per the information provided by Motorway police, the above report was published mentioning wife of Raja Hussain Khan Maqpoon. However, Mr. Tanoli in an email message has clarified that Maqpoon was alone in his car when the accident took place. His wife is safe and sound, thank God.
