Female Governor for Gilgit Baltistan


Nodero, December 27: President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, has announced that a woman will head Gilgit Baltistan as its governor.

Speaking to a gathering here, marking a death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto, president Zardari said “a sister of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto” would be appointed as governor of the region. Sources said that member national assembly Farah Naz Asfahani is considered to be next Governor of Gilgit Baltistan. Farah Naz Asfahani is wife of the closest friend of president Zardari and Pakistan’s ambassador to the US Mr. Hussain Haqqani.
Faryal Talpur, sister of president Zardari would also be the Governor of Gilgit Baltistan. Cheif Minister Gilgit Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah had said earlier that he was assured by president Zardari to nominate a local Governor for Gilgit Baltistan.
