US Embassy delegation to visit Gilgit Baltistan

ISLAMABAD: A three-member delegation of US Embassy consisting of Lisa Buzenos, Political/Economic Officer, Kimberly Phelan, Political Officer and Security Advisor Khalid Javed will be visiting Gilgit-Baltistan from Wednesday for five days.

Political observers privy to the visit have expressed their surprise over the visit of the delegation in view of the tense situation in Gilgit-Baltistan. During its stay, the embassy delegation will meet Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah, Finance Minister, ministers, speaker, members of Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly.

According to the sources what is more surprising is that the delegation will meet BNF student activist Aslam Inqilabi and have lunch with him. 


It will also meet human rights activist Nasreen Nasir, Chairman Gilgit-Baltistan United Movement Manzoor Hussain Parwana, Vice President Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court Bar Association Wazir Farman Ali. INP
