ISLAMABAD: All those responsible for Kohistan carnage hail from Darel, Rehman Malik, federal interior minister has disclosed on Sunday.
Talking to media after meeting with Syed Mehdi Shah, chief minister of Gilgit Baltistan, Rehman Malid said that he had received investigation report of Kohistan carnage which suggests that the culprits belonged to Derel area of Diamer district. He said, the report has been passed to the local jirga of Diamer district to seek its role for the arrest of culprits.
18 persons were killed in Harban area of Kohistan on February 28 by unknown assailants pulling them out of the buses on their way to Gilgit from Rawalpindi. The terrorists targeted only shia muslims by checking their national identity cards. Shia leaders of Gilgit Balistan have blamed local residents to be involved in the massacre. Federal minister of Interior Rehman Malik, in his last visit to Gigit, had ensured to arrest the culprits after thorough investigation of the incident.
