CHILAS: Twenty people, including women and children, were gunned down in Harban, near Kohistan on Truesday.
The bus was going to Gilgit from Rawalpindi when unidentified assailants opened fire, leaving 20 passengers dead on the spot and about 7 seriously injured.
The bus was carrying about 27 passengers, with most of them belonged to Gilgit Baltistan.
Most of the dead bodies and wounded passengers have been shifted to district head quarter hospital Chilas.
The reason behind the attack could not be ascertained so far. However, police source from Gilgit have confirmed that the attacked bus had belonged to Gilgit Baltistan Coach Service, formerly known as Mashabroom, a Skurdu based transport company, operating across GB, as well as Rawalpindi and Karachi. Bus number is BLN 8371.
