GILGIT: A veteran politician and a stalwart of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party joined Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz, accusing the PPP leadership of spreading sectarianism in this region wrecked by sectarianism in the past.
“See just to strike a ‘sectarian’ balance in the region, undeserving people are being inducted through backdoors in key posts, ruining merit and encouraging sectarian differences,” said Qalb-e-Ali, former president PPP of district Nagar, hinting at the recently appointed governor of GB, Dr Shamma Khalid and Jamil Ahmed, deputy speaker who lost the elections but elevated to the post of deputy speaker in the legislative assembly.
He was addressing a crowded press conference in the Gilgit press club, flanked by Hafiz-ur-Rehman, Provincial president of PML-N and many others PML-N leaders. More than 1000 supporter of Qalb-e-Ali also turned up to endorse standpoint of their leader.
