Gilgit: The Northern Areas Legislative Assembly has been dissolved and the Cheif Exactive along with all six advisors has been made disfunctional, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Kashmir and Northern Areas Affairs.
The minister Kashmir and Northern Areas Affairs (KANA) has use his discritional powers as the Chairman Northern Areas Legislative Assembly to make disfunctional the Chief Exactive NALC Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan and his all six advisors who belonged to PML(Q). However, the notification did not had details about any interim set up after dissolution of the cabinet.
The move was likely after replacement of Muslim Conference led government with PPP's favorite present set up in Azad Kashmir in December last year. There was a consistant pressure on Minister of Kashmir Affairs from local leadership of PPP to dissolve the PML(Q) led NALC cabinet in order to clear the way for them in november elections, sources said.
According to the sources, the Northern Areas Legislative Assembly will soon be desolved and elections will be held in November this year. However, it is not clear whether the revolved set up, which is promised by Qamar Zaman Kaira, Minister KANA, will be anounced before general elections.
