Hiking festival to mark Mountains Day

Islamabad: A hiking and plantation event has been organised on the green Margalla Hills to coincide with International Mountains Day, which falls on December 11 every year.

Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) in collaboration with Alpine Club of Pakistan would organise Mountain Hike and Sapling Plantation Event at the Margalla Hills to mark the day.

Approximately 300 students from selected schools and colleges from Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan will participate in the event. Prize distribution ceremony of the event will be held at Pir Sohawa with Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah will be the chief guest.
